An educational docu-series titled Hearts of Heroes made a stop in Junction to cover the flooding that devastated the town in October 2018.
The episode, which airs Saturday, covers the flooding of the South Llano River. During the flood, two people and their dog were caught in the middle of the destruction, which forced them to take shelter in a tree for over five hours, according to a news release from BELFOR Property Restoration, which is co-producing the episode with ABC and Litton Entertainment.
A game warden and a tactical DPS flight officer were able to rescue the family.
According to a Standard-Times story, Debbie Thomas, her dog, Chaps, and her friend, Bobby Dillon, were worried the tree they were in wouldn’t hold.
