A television show is putting Tamarac Fire Rescue in the spotlight.
Producers for ABC’s “Hearts of Heroes” visited Tamarac Fire Rescue Station 36 on Dec. 17 and 18 to film an upcoming episode.
“Hearts of Heroes” focuses on emergency workers’ responses to natural disasters, how people can prepare for weather hazards, and disaster recovery efforts. Visitors included hosts Ginger Zee, ABC chief meteorologist, and Stephen Yellen, BELFOR Property Restoration CEO.
Interim Fire Chief Michael Annese, Operations Chief John Fraser, Division Chief Jeff Lopez, and Fire Inspector Cintia Chelles participated in the filming.
The fire rescue station served as a backdrop for upcoming episodes. City staff detailed information about fire prevention and how to approach weather-related information. According to Monique Johnson, city marketing specialist, no live calls or Tamarac-related calls were featured.
